Eras Tour Piano Inspired DIY Door Mat

I'm going to start this post out by saying I will not be providing stencils or outlines for this Eras Tour Piano Inspired DIY Door Mat. Why? Because I totally freehanded it.

I will show you my process and pump you up with the fact that if you can do basic flower doodles, you can make this welcome mat.

Miss Taylor Allison Swift had this beautiful, flowered piano for her surprise song section of the Eras Tour. I've had this idea of making the design into a welcome door mat for a while but finally had a day where I could mentally and physically spend time doing this. Full transparency, I made this door mat months ago but just didn't have time to post about it.

If I had this to re-create all over the only thing I would change, is I would watch the Eras Tour on Disney+ as I painted. I did listen to different albums so good enough.

But that's enough rambling, let's just jump right in and show you how you can make your own welcome mat inspired by Taylor Swift.

Eras Tour Piano Inspired DIY Door Mat

Supplies:

Door Mat

Paint brushes

Craft paint (here are the colors I used)

Apple Barrel - Green turquoise (stems of the flowers)

Apple Barrel - Yellow Flame

Apple Barrel - Fushia

Apple Barrel - Royal Violet

Apple Barrel - Purple Iris

Apple Barrel - Jack-o-lantern

Apple Barrel - Snow White

Apple Barrel - Black

Apple Barrel - Chestnut

Americana - Razzle Berry

Paper plate (this is my palette)

Cup of water for rinsing brushes

Paper towels (for wiping brushes as needed)

Directions: 1. Look up a picture of the Eras Tour Piano to use as a reference.

2. Use something to mark out where you want the vines/flowers to start. I'm very technical and used my paint brushes to mark where I was going to paint my vines. Four vines go to the bottom of the mat.

3. Start with green and draw out where your flowers are going to start. I made mine go about 3/4 the way up the mat. You need to leave room for the flowers.

4. I started with one color flower at a time and created for example all the purple flowers, then yellow flowers.

5. Go back in and touch up some areas or add other colors to give it more depth or brightness.

6. Let completely dry overnight and voila!

   
   

   Keep in mind these are supposed to be wildflowers, they aren't perfect. As a matter of fact, their imperfections make them quirkier and more realistic in a way.
