In honor of it being my dog Ollie's birthday month, I wanted to share a fun dog DIY snuffle mat that we made! This DIY Snuffle Mat is a great way to add some enrichment into treat time. Sniffing is hugely beneficial for dogs. I read somewhere that just 20 minutes of sniffing is like an hour of walking time. It's good for their brains and is very stimulating for them. Then and now! Look at this baby when I first made him a snuffle mat! Supplies: Plastic Sink Mat Fleece fabric (I used about 2 yards total) Rotary cutter Self-healing mat Acrylic ruler I used two different colors of green fleece but you could totally do one solid color throughout, colors that match your decor, or a rainbow of colors! Directions: Using your rotary cutter, self-healing mat, and ruler, cut your fleece into strips that are about 7- 8 inches long and 1 inch wide. This is the type of DIY that can also be done with scissors if you don't own or don't want to purchase a rotary cutter. I just find the rotary cutter to be a much faster and cleaner way to make your cuts. However, this project doesn't have to be perfect and scissors will work just fine. 2. Take a strip of your fleece and tie it to your sink mat. I double-tied mine to just make sure they were secure since my dog was going to be digging around in the finished product. 3. Repeat these steps, tying fleece in the areas between each hole. If you're making a colorful or two-toned mat, make sure you swap the colors up to create a pattern. 4. Once you've tied all your strips, and covered all the spaces between the holes, your mat will look something like this. To use the snuffle mat, tuck small treats into and around in the flaps of fleece and let your dog have fun using his nose to search out the goodies! Ollie's favorite treats are these Zuke's Turkey and Cranberry Holiday Trees but your dog's favorite small treats or pieces of treat will be great! We like to use our snuffle mat when we're home but can't be very engaging. It's good for when I'm having to do work. This also makes a fun gift for dog lovers in your life!

If you follow my blog or know me in real life, then you know I attended The Eras Tour and got to see Taylor Swift for the first time in person! I took my daughter on a little girls' road trip and we got dressed up like the Swifties we are and had THE BEST NIGHT together singing, dancing, and trading bracelets. It was seriously so much fun! We were lucky enough to score some floor seats and when Taylor sang All Too Well, the most magical "snow" fell all over us. It went perfectly with the line in verse 6 that goes, "I still remember the first fall of snow, And how it glistened as it fell, I remember it all too well". Here are some screenshots from my videos of that night! I'll save you from hearing us screaming at the top of our lungs, ha! My daughter and I collected a few handfuls of the confetti, but when we got home we didn't know what to do with it. We finally decided to create this The Eras Tour Confetti DIY Shadow Box to showcase our confetti and a photo of us to remember the night. The Eras Tour Confetti DIY Shadow Box Supplies: Shadow Box Paper (glitter blue) Cricut (I have a Cricut Joy) Removable vinyl (blue and silver and transfer tape) Tools like weeder, scraper, and glue to attach your photo. Shop Confetti Shadow Box Supplies: Directions: Using Cricut design space, create your text for the frame of your shadow box. I chose to put the words, "The Eras Tour" on top and the date we attended, and Swift City (that was the name Glendale, AZ changed to for the weekend Taylor Swift played there) on the bottom. Make sure to measure your frame and size your words so that your words fit on your frame. Next, choose a lyric that you feel suits the vibe or song you are capturing. Honestly, there are so many good lyrics you can choose. Maybe you even want to put your "surprise songs" names on yours. Feel free to make it your own! Obviously, mine are from All Too Well 10 minute version. Create the lyrics mentioned above in Cricut design space and cut them out with your cricut. Carefully attach them to your glass in the frame. Make sure it doesn't go too far to the edge and gets covered when you put the glass back in the frame. Also keep in mind the color of the confetti that will be behind your lyrics so you can make sure it stands out. Print your favorite picture (or pictures) from the night! I printed one that I had cropped to be square on a 4x6 photo paper and cut it to look like a Polaroid photo in our frame. A nod to 1989 if you will. Measure and cut your background paper to fit the back of your frame. We were going for a blue and silver vibe so we did blue paper to highlight the white confetti but if you have the Eras-colored confetti or the leaf confetti, you may want a different vibe all together. Lastly, put your confetti in the open shadow box and close it all up. It's fun to display and give a shake every now and then like a snow globe! Here were my paper choices. I'm glad I went with the glittery blue! This project was so off and on for me. You would think it would come together in an afternoon but with work and issues with vinyl, it just didn't happen as quickly as I would have liked. I mainly had issues with the permanent vinyl I tried to use on the project first. We absolutely love how it turned out though! This easy seafood pasta salad is bursting with summer seafood flavors! It makes a great dish to take to a summer celebration, pool party, or cookout! Ingredients: 12 oz box medium pasta shells 8 oz, frozen pre-cooked salad shrimp 8 oz, frozen peas 20 oz, imitation crab meat lemon juice (1 lemon) 3/4 cup mayonnaise (sometimes I added a little more after it sits in the fridge overnight) Directions: In a large pot of salted water, boil your pasta as directed on the package. When there are a few minutes left to boil, add your frozen peas to boiling water. For example, my peas said they need to be boiled for 5 minutes, so I added them to my cooking pasta in the last 5 minutes of cook time. Once your pasta and peas have cooked, drain them in a colander and run them under cold water. Roughly chop your imitation crab. In a large bowl with a lid, add your crab meat, frozen precooked shrimp (they will dethaw in the pasta), drained pasta and peas, mayonnaise, and lemon juice. Stir well to combine and season to taste. Salt and pepper really make this dish pop but if you want more flavor feel free to add the seasonings of your choice. Creole gives it a nice kick! Store in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving. This can also be made the night before. It tastes better the next day in my opinion. Serve chilled, as a side dish, or on its own for a light lunch! *Note: If you don't like shrimp, this can be made into just a crab pasta salad by doubling the crab meat and omitting the shrimp. We make it this way about half of the time. This is a staple of my childhood summers (with a few tweaks) and it is great for taking to picnics or pool parties! It really pairs well with a big glass of lemonade. Be sure to try our Lavender Lemonade too this summer!

June is flying by, and before we know it, it will be July 4th! But, that’s what happens when you’re having fun! Time needs to slow down. I’m trying to soak up every moment of free time this summer. The kids and I made these yummy Berry Patriotic Popsicles. They are red, white and blue and oh so yummy! Berry Patriotic Popsicles Ingredients: honey vanilla Greek yogurt 1 cup strawberries, hulled 1 cup blueberries 4 tablespoons sugar popsicle molds (I have these popsicle molds but for this, I used popsicle sticks and stuck them through aluminum foil I put over the top, instead of the plastic bottoms) Directions: 1. In a food processor or blender, mix together 1 cup strawberries and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Pulse until liquid. Pour into a bowl and rinse out your food processor. 2. In the cleaned-out food processor, mix together your 1 cup blueberries and 2 tablespoons sugar and pulse until liquid. 3. To start making your popsicles, layer spoonfuls of the yogurt, strawberry mixture, and blueberry mixture to create these red, white and blue layers in your popsicles. 4. Elevate your Taco Tuesday with these amazing Chicken Tinga Quesadilla Tacos! Everyone in my family gets so excited when I make these tacos. The tacos taste so good and look beautiful, but the recipe is so easy! These aren't your average chicken tacos, because we turn the taco into a quesadilla. I mean look at that cheese pull! Let's jump right in and make these amazing tacos. As I said, these are stunning tacos, but actually pretty easy to make. Easy enough that you can actually have them on Taco Tuesday without feeling overwhelmed. Chicken Tinga Quesadilla Tacos Ingredients: Olive oil, about 1 tablespoon 1 rotisserie chicken, shredded 1 red onion, halved then sliced 1 can of chipotle chilis in Adobe sauce (I vary how much I use, but usually it's around 4 of the peppers with some of the sauce added in) 1, 28oz can of crushed tomatoes 4 garlic cloves 1/2 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp dried oregano small flour tortillas (you need 2 tortillas per taco) non-stick spray, I like avocado spray quesadilla cheese, shredded Roasted poblano salsa cremosa (so so good, makes those flavors pop) Toppings optional: Onion, chopped (for ease, I buy prechopped) Queso Fresco cilantro lime wedges Note: Special tools this recipe calls for are a griddle (I own this one) and a food processor. Directions: Halve your red onion and cut it into thin slices. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large saute pan and heat over medium-high heat. Add onions to start cooking. While your onions are cooking down, add garlic cloves, chipotles in adobe sauce, crushed tomatoes, oregano, cumin, and salt to a food processor and blend. 4. Once your sauce is blended, add it to your pan with the red onions and bring to a simmer. 5. Add in the shredded chicken and stir to combine. Bring it all to a simmer again and turn it down to low to just heat the chicken through and let that sauce marinate the chicken. 6. Start prepping your toppings for the tacos - we like chopped onion (I often buy pre-chopped to save time), crumbled queso fresco, cilantro, lime wedges, and the roasted poblano salsa cremosa really makes these tacos. Set all this aside and get ready to start making your tacos. 7. Start getting your griddle warm, I think I usually cook mine around 300. Spray with non-stick spray. I like avocado spray. 8. When your griddle is ready, add your bottom tortillas and top with shredded quesadilla cheese. Top with another tortilla. 9. When they are almost ready to flip, spray the top side with more non-stick spray, flip, and cook the other side. 10. Now, you're ready to make your tacos! The easiest way to make your taco fold in half is to use your spatula and made a small indentation down the middle to fold easier. 11. Add a scoop of the chicken mixture to one side of the taco. I sometimes add the rest of the toppings right way, other times I remove them from the griddle and add the toppings. Fold your taco together 12. Top with queso fresco, cilantro, chopped onions, roasted poblano salsa cremo, or whatever toppings your family likes. 13. Serve with a wedge of lime and enjoy! This post may contain affiliate links.

I love indoor plants but after collecting quite a few, I needed a pretty way to display them. I created this DIY Hanging Plant Decor to display my indoor plants. I've even gifted them to friends for their birthdays. Supplies: Large branch (Mine is dried cholla cactus but a branch works just as well) Macrame plant hangers Small pots twine large hooks potting dirt plants (this holds 5 plants) hot glue sandpaper (optional) Shop project supplies: Directions: Clean your branch and sand down any rough edges as needed. Decide how far apart you want to space your plants and in which order you want to hang them. (My order from left to right was the one with the weaved pattern, double hanging basket, beaded hanging basket, and lastly the twisted style hanging basket. Using your twine, wrap it around the wood where you want the plants to hang, putting it through your hanging basket loop or ring several times, and tying the hanging basket to it. The plants get heavy with dirt, water, and the plant themselves so make sure you wrap it several times to give it good support. Secure your knot several times. I used hot glue on my knots after I tied them several times and trimmed down the excess. Repeat the previous process for the following hanging baskets. To create a way to hang it, near the ends of the last hanging baskets, tie more twine, making a loop at the top for your hooks to slide in. You may have to measure this one to make sure the hooks can be looped under. Using a drill, attach your hooks to the ceiling. Hang your hanging planter on it. I planted each plant in their respective pots and then gently placed them in the macrame planter. Be sure to keep the saucer under the pot to catch any excess water later. And then sit back and enjoy your masterpiece! This hanging plant decor really brightens up the bay window in my breakfast nook. Do you have a favorite indoor plant? This Whipped Ricotta French Toast is one that screams breakfast in bed, but is actually pretty healthy and easy to whip up! It's quick enough to pull together, that I've made it on the weekends and during the weekdays (if I actually get up when my alarm goes off). Whipped Ricotta French Toast *Serves 4 Ingredients: 8 slices of whole-grain toast (2 per person) 5-6 eggs (depending on size) milk cinnamon nutmeg 3/4 cup ricotta 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 2 Tablespoons maple syrup (plus more for topping) fresh berries (we like strawberries and blueberries) *Special tools: griddle Directions: In a small bowl, crack your eggs. Add a splash of milk and cinnamon and nutmeg, as desired and whisk together. Preheat the griddle to about 300 and spray with nonstick spray. Coat each piece of bread in egg mixture, flipping to coat each side. I let mine sit on each side to really soak up the egg mixture. Place each slice of coated bread on the hot griddle. Repeat with all the slices of bread. Once the bread is cooked on one side, flip each piece to cook the other side. Remove to a plate for later. (not pictured - vanilla and nonstick spray) 6. In a clean bowl, mix together the 3/4 cup ricotta, 2 tablespoons maple syrup, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Whip together with a fork. You can also use a handheld immersion blender if you have one. 7. Plate your French toast (this recipe gives 2 pieces of toast per person) and top with 1/4 of the ricotta mixture. 8. Wash and slice your strawberries. Top your French toast with strawberries and blueberries or other fruit of your choice. 9. Serve with another splash of maple syrup on top and enjoy! I'm not kidding when I say my kids devour this! At first, the kids think the ricotta is weird but once I got my kids to taste it, they actually request the ricotta mixture anytime I mention making French toast. The ricotta gives it a bit more protein to make it a more filling breakfast and of course, the whole grain and berries help provide fiber and antioxidants so you can feel good about feeding your family in the morning! Ahh baseball. A classic American sport. My little guy played baseball and it was SOO cute. Of course, as a great team parent, I had to supply snacks and I found some adorable baseball snacks for kids that don’t take much prep work. Your little baller will love them! Baseball Snacks for Kids I was that crazy parent who signed up for the first game snack of the season. I wanted to do something cute, but easy. We found these cute boxes of Cracker Jacks and knew they would have to kickstart our first season! "Take me out to the ball game, take me out to the crowd! Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks!" All of the parents were singing the song. The kids loved the little prizes inside (tattoos) but were lost on the novelty of Cracker Jacks at their first baseball game. At the end of the baseball season, we wanted to thank his fellow teammates for a great season. I created this simple printable and attached them to these yummy Hostess Baseball Cupcakes as a thank-you treat! Get the printable PDF here We added his name to the bat in white marker. Then, I printed them off and stapled them to the baseball cupcakes to give out to his friends. They were much easier on Mom than trying to make baseball-decorated cupcakes and they had creme inside! I’d say that’s a win/win. The kids loved them and we hope your little baseball fans will too!

April showers bring May flowers! We’re bringing some of those pretty Spring and Summer flowers to our table with these sweet Flower Garden Parfaits that your kids will enjoy making and eating! After our DIY wildflower seed bombs, we’re in the gardening mood. These garden parfaits are perfect and easy enough for kids to help! Whether you’ve spent the morning gardening, at the park, having a playdate with friends or at an outdoor tea party these cute little flower garden parfaits are a sweet treat your kids will love to help you make and eat. Simply glue faux white daisy heads to the ends of green plastic spoons with hot glue. Set them aside until you’re ready to assemble your flower garden parfaits. Directions: Layer your cups in this order 1. chocolate pudding 2. marshmallows (rocks) 3. butterscotch pudding 4. chocolate chips (different stones) 5. a little more chocolate pudding 6. shredded grass candy, green coconut flakes, or green sprinkles to look like grass Serve your little flower garden parfaits at your next party or playdate or have the guest get involved and let them make their own! Today, I’m sharing our favorite No-Churn Chocolate Ice Cream recipe that you and your kids can enjoy week after week, all summer long! We love homemade ice cream but pulling out the ice cream churn and gathering all the parts and pieces is time-consuming. Making sure I have enough ice and salt, and watching and waiting for hours, isn’t really fun for me and my kids got bored waiting. But, for an easy ice cream recipe, I came up with an easy no-churn ice cream recipe with triple chocolate to please your sweet tooth and keep you cool on a hot day! This no-churn ice cream only takes a few minutes, and a few easy ingredients to make. Then you have a yummy summer dessert or hot afternoon treat! It doesn’t get any easier than 5 ingredients! No-Churn Triple Chocolate Ice Cream Ingredients: 2 cups heavy whipping cream 14 oz sweetened condensed milk 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder pinch of salt (optional) chocolate syrup chocolate chips Directions: 1. In a small bowl mix together the sweetened condensed milk with the 1/4 cup cocoa powder and pinch of salt (optional) 2. With a mixer, whip the heavy cream on medium speed until soft peaks form. 3. Gently fold the chocolate/condensed milk mixture into the whipped cream until smooth. 4. In a loaf pan (or this cute ice cream container), layer in about 1/3 of the ice cream mixture. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and chocolate chips on top. 5. Repeat with another layer of ice cream mixture and more syrup and chocolate chips. Add a final layer of ice cream mixture and top the whole thing with syrup and chocolate chips in a pretty design. Cover and freeze for a minimum of 6 hours. Overnight works best so that your ice cream is completely frozen. Scoop and enjoy!
